What are Sales Engagement Signals?

Sales Engagement Signals captures viewer activity when a preview link is opened. This feature helps you see who watched your video preview, how long they watched, where they were located, and key engagement milestones.

Session data is stored so you can report on views and viewer behavior over time.

What Data Is Tracked (open dropdown menu)

Sessions

When someone opens a preview link:

  • A session begins when the preview link is opened.

  • Each session is unique to that preview link for all viewers.

  • End of session is determined by the last recorded event.

Tracked information includes:

  • Timestamp of session start

  • Video plays (every time the play button is clicked and video starts)

  • Watch milestones (75%, 100%)

  • Viewer location (city, state/region, country)

  • Viewer (number indicates the same viewer for that preview link)

Video Engagement Metrics (open dropdown menu)

Video Plays

Counted each time the video PLAY button is clicked and the video starts playing.

Watched View Percentiles

These are registered when a viewer watches at least the following amounts of the total video length (in any sequential order):

  • 75% View – β‰₯75% watched

  • Complete/100% View – Entire video watched

Viewer Identification (open dropdown menu)

When someone opens a video using a preview link, viewers are identified anonymously and labeled numerically in the viewer list

Viewers

  • Each person who opens a preview link is labeled as Viewer 1, Viewer 2, etc.

  • Viewers are identified using a browser-based cookie, which helps us recognize repeat views from the same person on the same device.

How Viewer numbers work

  • Viewer numbers are specific to each video.

    • For example, Viewer 1 on one video and Viewer 3 on another video may be the same person.

  • If the same viewer opens the same preview link multiple times on the same device, they will typically retain the same viewer number.

  • If a viewer clears their cookies or switches devices or browsers, they may appear as a new viewer with a new number.

Important notes

  • Viewer identification is anonymous and does not reveal personal details.

  • Viewer tracking is based on the device and browser used, not on location.

Location Data

  • Captured via IP address at the start of the session.

  • Location fields may include City, State/Region, Country.

  • Mobile devices may show approximate or inconsistent locations due to IP variations.

Note: Location accuracy may vary depending on network type (Wi-Fi vs. mobile data) because IP is only captured at session start.

Email Notifications

When a session starts (preview link opened), you will receive an email with:

  • Notification that someone viewed the preview

  • Video title

  • Link to your account page for more tracking data

Note: Unsubscribe from email notifications on the Waymark account settings page.
