Setting direction lets you optionally shape the focus of your voice-over script and text. You can instruct Waymark AI with specific or general prompts in the Set Direction sections on both the video generator or editor.
Direction primarily impacts:
Voice over script
On-screen text
Note: The platform will do its best to match imagery and footage to the voiceover script but at this time we are unable to show specific image or footage requested in the Direction instructions. For more on how to find the right imagery and footage refer here.

Tips on Writing Direction Prompts
Tips on Writing Direction Prompts
The direction will not impact the template selected, however your text and script will influence the images and footage selected for the spec generation.
For the Set Direction step, you’ll get the best results when you try the following:
Specify the main topic for the voiceover script and matching text on screen (you can use the four suggested topics and expand on them, combine them, or mention a specific promotion/marketing slogan etc)
Putting customer copy, specific promotions, or story requirements that were not pulled into the Brand Profile “About” section
Writing what the script should say with “Use this script verbatim:”
What to avoid
Specific time references
Do not instruct specific text or script duration (e.g., "Make the text “SHOP NOW” show for exactly 15 seconds", “Show website URL at :22”).
References to prior generations
Do not ask the system to change based on the last script you made (e.g., "make the script more professional than the last video"). Every request is a new conversation.
Writing a long or mismatched script
If your script doesn’t fit in with the brand profile’s copy or is too long (over 100 words), the voiceover script will resort back to using the brand profile marketing and product & services copy to generate a script.
Instructing for specific colors, imagery, footage, or transitions
The system finds imagery to match the text and voiceover so rather than instructing the kinds of images or footage you'd like to see, you can mention those things as words in your brand profile or in the set direction modal.
Examples of best practices
"Use this script verbatim: Sign up today for your first class free at FitnessGym.com"
“Mention promotion for free class at Power Fitness, promotion ends 3/30”
"Luxury real estate, trusted advisors, local expertise, beautiful homes on the market now, call today"
